Website marketing [ ...addings ]

[...go to the beginning]
Obiously I gave up [ as a one man company ] to implement my own blog @ ics, as said, this is not a feature to implement and let run on its own, as a considerable staff structure for projecting and following up users is duly required ...then you are supposed to master a bit of html and javascript and php and xml and rdf and rss and and and ... !

So getting back to my website marketing here are a few tips that I can resume from my personal trials :

- RDF & RSS are part of XML their use is done by the blog-ip
. . . in this present case by http://www.blogger.com

...by activating in settings : Add your Blog to our listings?

you are deciding to let your writings be classified as stated into your blog editing [ rdf ] and you are permitting, by enabling [ rss ] to web syndicating search engine to fetch your data and redeliver them in order to be retrieved somewhere else, where your content may be required.
This works out as a newsletter reversed subscription.

Suppose You are interested in my Website Marketing Theme and I have announced to keep on blogging this argument, you may use this feature to keep yourself updated on any new line or new article that I add to my blog.

This features basicly a detecting frame that monitors the internet blogs.

So this feature is for the end user to be mastered, all you have to do, as a blog holder, is just to choose to set your content available for serch scanning by selecting "Yes" in the form of your blog setting [ settings - Add your Blog to our listings? ]

The end user needs to download an rss reader such as :

FeedReader26B640Setup.exe

...then past the feed url into a File > New > External feed Window or by pressing shortcut [F2] in the case you are using the FeedReader program [FeedReader26B640Setup.exe].

In the case of http://www.blogger.com/ the feed url will be :
www.blogger.com/atom.xml

while in the case he finds an rss button on the blog he wants to monitor, then the url will be the one he sees into the navigation bar of his browser after he clicks on such a button, see e.g. :
[my blog @ Excite] http://blobs.blog.excite.it/
...for more info please check the encoded article to ics-php's blog

...[ XML - FEED - KNOWLEDGE ]

Search Engine Indexing :
All rules to apply to normal web page apply for a page blog @ blogger e.g. : http://ics-php.blogspot.com/

- Some blog-ip provide to submit your blog automatically to search engines
. . . eg :
metacrawler search http://blobs.blog.excite.it/
- If you want your blog-pages @
www.blogger.com to be indexed in a search engine you have to submit them yourself
. . . for example @
http://www.google.com/addurl.html

Here is a result for http://ics-php.blogspot.com/ . . . listed @ Google

Web Etiquette

So while I am website-marketing recommending and explaining to my audience low cost promoting for the Web a lot of happenings occurred to my own website.
My main source for marketing my site has dropped my listings from 10 to 3 , some of them are still persisting halfway down, due to some rdf property left behind by scriptsearch.com and some cached infos into the search engines that eventually are linking to these 7 dropped links from www.scriptsearch.com
Here is the list and this author search shows the 3 listings left.
Now you will say it was gratis, no it wasn't as they costed me heavy efforts to fix my programs fit for them.
I agree that I did not make a forever deal with ScriptSearch.com , but they could at least give me a drop-out-date !
No dropoutdate no explanation ... just dropped out !
After all they have used my listings for 2 years for attracting visitors and I think I deserve an answer to my messages to them.

That's why I am now spreading this risk through more web-publishing companies as www.thescriptdirectory.com , www.hotscript.com etc.

I pretty well have read forwardings and conditions, where the company deserves the right to delete at anytime any published program, but my dropped-scripts have been on for a couple years on average, to re-propose all of them elsewhere, I will need a lot of working hours, also by re-adjusting rating links and so on.

Ok the reason may be whatever, say that my 7 scripts were not original [One for all please have a look at this link, then post my blog for a similar one], say that they would come to me and say : Hey mister ics, we got space problems on our database, please cut off some of your links and assemble them on your best ones'listed links !

Oh no ! Too much of a hustle for a script maker !

It is already very much rude to set a form to let people writing to you, instead of an e-mail address but at least you can add a few lines to your form that gives to the Visitor a copy of what he is writing in the form and he can track and record his query.
Into the right side framework of this page you can see such a feature, actually I believe that there is one in a million like that, believe me it is very easy, you just buy a book of PHP and learn on how to do it !
[...or you associate to www.ics-php.com]

This theme is treated and included into my PHP platform, not necessarily my Visitor must associate to my website to get the code, if he persuades me to be running out of just those 50 euros to associate, I can also e-mail the code for nothing
I am now publishing this article on my low-cost advertising ..actually depending on some other possible points of view may also be considered very expensive,

I know to risk that ScriptSearch.com drops all my remaining publishings, but I could not resist to shoot my complains by writing this article. To conclude I wish to say that doors are made to be knocked, outsiders and insiders both are supposed to be kind, so let's try to implement respect and consideration for people anywhere they are staying.

... I have to say here on the 23d of July 2004 that www.scriptsearch.com has reset all my links and also sombody else's I suppose, there were many disappeared links indeed. Most probably they had a server problem and they were too busy to answer on my inquires :-)
...but my abitual surfers have seen what big changes I made on my freebies and advertising. However we have a saying in Italy :
"All is good , if it ends up well !"

...a few things have changed in the meantime in results made available by http://www.scriptsearch.com/ regarding the restored scripts, the retrieved results from search engines are not the same as they were when I have edited my web page :
http://www.ics-php.com/ev/marketing.htm ,
the ranking for ScriptSearch itself is much higher
[...not for the script-makers].
I will surely keep an eye on it and report my findings in this blog.
